Breaking Stereotypes with Inclusive Language

Many people struggle with feeling like they do not belong in a group because of their, height, body weight, age, disability, skin colour, religion, sexual orientation, or even gender.

Due to the lack of genuine diversity and inclusion, social stereotypes are still deeply ingrained in our society and workplaces today. These social constructs get reinforced by language, as it shapes our understanding of the world around us and ourselves.

Her talk will help you understand how we unconsciously exclude groups of people with what we say and how we say it, how social norms affect our language, and most importantly, what we can do to avoid it.
